I am sitting on a wealth of photographs of my overseas trip, and spent a few hours today sorting out the photos of Rome. What I've done first is to filter the photos which I thought were best. Here are my top 16
photos of Rome. Photos of the Colosseum, Vatican City, Arch of Titus, Trevi Fountain and more.

In a major shakeup to the transatlantic flight route, British Airways has launched OpenSkies Airline. One can
fly OpenSkies Airline from New York to Brussels and New York to Paris from June 2008. The catalyst for the launch of the new airline was the new open skies agreement between the EU and the USA in 2007, which allows European airlines to fly from any airport in the EU to the USA.
Breaking news: An
Atlasjet airline flight was hijacked en-route from Norther cyprus to Istanbul, on the 18th August 2007. The Atlasjet flight was 2 hours into its journey when hijackers tried to force their way into the cockpit, and steer the plane to Tehran. The pilots refused and landed the plane in Antalya.
To help people to find the cheapest flight from London to Johannesburg, I've set up this webpage which shows a list of airlines operating
flights from London to Johannesburg ; there's also a survey done every now and then which shows the flight prices of the various airlines from London to Johannesburg.
easyJet flights have just got a bit more expensive. From 1 October 2007 you will have to pay extra for each piece of checked-in luggage on an easyJet flight. easyJet claim they are doing this for the environment (by discouraging luggage, there's less weight on the plane and therefore less CO2 emissions).
Thought I'd share this link - it might help you get on the cheapest flight from London to New York. Here's a list of airlines operating
flights from London to New York. Useful in getting on the cheapest flight, as sometimes one wants to go and check each airline's price individually.
Emirates flights may be capped by the German government to 63 per week in order to protect Lufthansa, the national carrier. So, the ugly face of protectionism doesn't just show itself in third world countries, but also in so called first world countries like Germany and elsewhere.
Spare a thought for Singapore Airlines - for years they have been trying to get slots to fly the lucrative east-Australia to west-USA route....now it looks like Virgin Blue's
V Australia airlines will be flying the route from late 2008 - subject to USA regulatory approval. The name V Australia Airlines comes from a competition which included entries like "Randy Roo airlines", "Choo Choo Flying Big Blue" and "Didgeree Blue" (my personal favourite).
